I used some large black rickrack as a border around a photo for a granddaughter and her family to make a pillow for her other grandmother. The rickrack was half under the picture cut into a circle so it looked like a scallop. That was my Christmas for pillow tops!

I remember trying to iron the stuff and trying to keep both the zigs and zags nice.

I love it for certain quilts or clothing for children.

I remember making gingham aprons in high school to sell at our church bazaar with embroidery around the rick rack. I guess I love it because I love making Raggedy Ann dolls, and you can't do Raggedy Ann without rick rack on her apron. Just personal preference.

I'm not a fan either. I have some that a friend gave me and I on rare occasions use it when making fabric postcards.

I remember an adorable dress that mom made that had lively colors and rick rack. I loved it. It was my party dress

I made some old fashioned aprons a couple of years ago and used lots of it because I remember both of my "Memere's" (grandmothers) wearing the same kind of aprons and thay had ric rac. I also use it on doll clothes.

Guess it's all in how you look at things and personal taste. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, rick rack . . . on some things! I am crazy about polka dots too . . . on some things! If it says "use me here" loud and clear . . . go for it. It's your creation . . . really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Sure don't mean this to sound discounting to others opinions or trite . . . but all these beautiful quilts we see on here tell me that we are ALL different in many ways, but thankfully all alike in our love of this art form.

I hated it as a kid. Come to think of it, I had a clown doll covered in rick rack! He was creepy.

Now, I like it just fine. Especially the enormous rick rack. It's the meanest, freakiest, most aggressive rick rack of all. Have you seen it? It's so wrong that it's right.

Love rick rack on aprons and little girl dresses/skirts. Two different colors do look terrific.
