Road to Stardom Wedding quilt finnished Queen size 104"x104"

I just finnished and gifted my daughter and her hubby's wedding quilt for Christmas. They got married in August but I could just not get it done in time. I pulled it out of the dryer just before they came for the Christmas meal. The pattern is Road to Stardom as found in the Still Stripping book from Quilt in a Day. My daughter and her husband were thrilled and excited to get it and take it home. The fabrics are Anna's Starry Night from Moda. I also used the home spun FQ from that line. Several people from this site helped me find additional fabric from this line to get this quilt together as the line was older. I hope some of you will see this. Again thanks for all the help you gave. Size 104"x104" large queen, Quilted on my Janome 6500, Quitling pattern was designed by DH.

Absolutely stunning. I love the colour choices and the design. When I read the title of the book, I ran to the book case to see if I had it, as it sounded familiar, and lo and behold I did. Adding that to my bucket list. Great job on the quilt, and your DD and DSIL will cherish it forever.

For years it was on my bucket list too and I knew I wanted to use the Anna Starry Night FQ bundels I had. Just before DD got engaged I talked to her and her now DH about making a quilt for them. I knew I did not have the money to buy all new fabrics so I had them shop in my stash. She especially liked the green in the Anna Starry Night fabric and the stars from the pattern.

I was taking classes at Quilt in a Day when the Still Stripping book came out. Also the Quilt in a Day shop had the large scrappy Road to Stardom quilt, that is displayed in the book, hanging up on their back wall. It is so pretty! When I was at a quilt show this summer I had the opportunity to talk to Elanor Burns and asked about that particular quilt. She said that quilt was now at her log cabin. It is definately worth making it and not too hard. I might even make another one with that pattern but totally different fabrics. It looks great and is not that hard to make.

You did a lovely job on that quilt! The colors are really nice - bold without being too bright, subdued without being pastel. How cool is it to make a family heirloom!!!
