I posted this once before, but it must have been in the wrong place. I'm thinking about buying a Rotary Blade Sharpener for my Olfa. It's expensive so I wanted to get some opinions from you all first. It seems so wasteful just throwing dull blades away when they are so expensive to replace and I could use that $$$ on material. Thanks for your reply.

I bought one but haven't used it yet. I got mine when I had a 40 or 50% cpn at JoAnns. Let me know how well they work. Hope they work.

45 MM blades at Harbor Freight are 2 for $1.99. They are called carpet blades there. For more information about them do a search here for Harbor Freight and you'll get many hits.

Don't get the True Cut it dulls the blades, unless I am useing it wrong.

I am not sure what brand I have but it dulls the blades. You will get more for your money by buying blades from Harbor Freight or watching and buying from Joanns when you get a 50% off sale.

I have had one for years. I may have used it once or twice. IMHO it is not worth the money. The sharpened blade was only good for 2 or 3 more cuts.

I bought a Dritz sharpner from JoAnns. Several people claim they are really good. So far I'm not too impressed, I might need to do it another way, but I think there is only one way. The 50% price was around $10

I have the TruCut. It cost about $42.00. I have been using it to touch up the blades. It appears to do reasonably well but doesn't appear to sharpen to new state.
It does not take out the nicks. The suggestion to get the Harbor Freight blades is a good one. I don't believe the TruCut will sharpen to original sharpness and proabably does not save that much from the Harbor Freight blades which are great. The other sharpeners are not worth the $$. Save ouf $$ and buy a fat quarter or a new spool of thread.

I've purchased 3 different ones - none worth it. I buy the carpet cutter blades now and no longer try to sharpen any.

I have one and it was a waste of money.
