I learned on the Olfa and thats the one I'm most comfortable with, my 45mm is the one I use the most, but also like my 60mm one as it's self closing.

They may be something wrong with your Martelli rotary cutter. You might want to call Martellis and talk to them about it. I use my cutter with their rulers and other rulers that are not theirs and it works just great. I am left handed and it is the only rotary cutter I have had no problems with. I love it!

I bought mine at wal-mart and love it. It is an off brand and was still not cheap @18$

I just got a Kai and I love it! Automatically retracts the blade too!

I have several brands and the only one I use is the Martelli. It feels different when you first use it, but It is now the ONLY one I like.....and blades from Harbor Freight.
