HI
Can rotary cutting blades be turned over and used again after one side wears out?
Thanks. I am starting a small home business and will be doing a lot of cutting. I have arthritic thumbs so the rotary cutters are a godsend.

No, these are not like records, the edge of the blade is the used part, not the side.

There is only one edge, so no.

The edges are beveled on both sides of the blade. That's why I had asked. Mary

Yes, both edges are beveled. That's how you get the sharpest point/blade in order to cut. When the edge is worn down, it wont cut that well. Think of your meat cutting knives. Once worn down, they don't cut as well and they need to be sharpened, thrown out or replaced. Love my cutco knives. Unfortunately, rotary cutters can not be sharpened.

Once rotary cutters skip or are dull, replace the blade with a new one.

I am told that one can get a sharpener for them .. How well they work I have no idea .. Check Sewing With Nancy or maybe Jo-Ann's.

Thanks for such quick responses!

I have not had any luck using sharpeners (and I could buy a lot of blades with the money I have spent on sharpeners). You might want to check out the carpet blades at Harbor Freight. A lot of folks here swear by them and they are really cheap.

Amazingly, I just tried this out earlier this afternoon. Like everyone said. Made no difference. Dull is dull!
