Ripped on Scotch 06-26-2011 06:54 PM

On the plus side... mail offically starts again on Tuesday!

JudyG 06-27-2011 07:16 AM

Mish, I love your row. Will be lots of fun to work on. Make sure to send instructions if you want anything special. I need to get busy and figure out a label.

Ripped, I'm so sorry to hear about your water problem. Hope you are able to get it fixed and back to sewing soon. I'm really glad to hear your postal workers are going back to work so I can now get my IRR quilt in the mail to Canada and we'll be able to get this one started. Just think - only two more weeks to mailing.

Ripped on Scotch 06-27-2011 08:05 AM

only 2 more weeks to finish alot of things!... looks like i'm making a trip to my parents to sew!

Gramakitten 06-28-2011 04:22 AM

I guess I better get busy. Still don't know what I am doing. Still lots of time. lol

JudyG 07-05-2011 09:53 AM

Well, gals, we're down to 10 days to mailing and I'm getting excited about getting going on these. Hope everyone is having fun deciding what they want to do.

Mish, I'm ready for yours any time you want to mail it.

Ripped on Scotch 07-05-2011 10:25 AM

My blocks are in the "curing" process I have to leave them for 3 - 5 days . I used Paintstiks to try something different.

JudyG 07-05-2011 11:12 AM

Can't wait to see what you've come up. Sounds neat.

Since mine is a Christmas quilt, I am using a Christmas tree for my label. Isn't it cute??? I figure everyone can sign in the white areas of the tree.

MISHNJIM 07-05-2011 05:07 PM

That is cute Judy!!!

Ripped on Scotch 07-05-2011 06:16 PM

materialgrl 07-07-2011 06:10 AM

Material Girl, I got your row today. I am working on mine tonight. I am doing thirties fabrics and churndash. I would like to have very traditional blocks on this one. will post pictures soon. Gramakitten/kathi

The one on the right is my row. the one on the left will be my signature blocks. hope you like them. I do.

Gramakitten 07-08-2011 04:45 PM

ROS, Are there any special "rules" that I should know before mailing to you? I have never sent to Canada. I remember in one swap that you need to put fabric on the label not quilt blocks. Let me know I will be ready to mail by Tuesday.

Under description put scraps & for the value never go over $25. And mark it as a gift or I have to pay duty on them. Other than that it should be ok. It does take 2 weeks min to get to me but that's normal.

Nice...I can't wait to get yours...Last year my quilt group in town did a Kansas City Star's blocks..So I have lot's of different blocks in that era to chose from. I'll just have my teacher re-size it for me because we did 12" blocks....OOHHHH, just thought I might not be doing row's on yours it could be the border. I'll figure it out.

JudyG 07-09-2011 06:38 AM

I haven't worked much with the 30's fabrics, so that will be an interesting one for me to work on. I love your churn dash blocks. Are those 6" blocks? They look a lot bigger than that on my computer.

here are my blocks. I haven't gotten them together yet as they are still in the curing process but they are almost ready to be heat set. My theme this time is winter. If i had my swap blocks back I'd do halloween but winter will work just as well. I hope you guys like them.

Beautiful!!

Gramakitten 07-11-2011 11:47 AM

It is really 6" but because they are not an even ninepatch they look bigger. Thanks for the info ROS. I will try to remember all of it. Kathi

MISHNJIM 07-11-2011 02:22 PM

ROS did you paint the snokflakes on the other 2 square? Nice!!

JudyG 07-11-2011 03:20 PM

Those are gorgeous, ROS. That will be a fun one to work on.

Ripped on Scotch 07-11-2011 05:27 PM

That is the paintstiks. There is a stencil for the snowflakes. It's really quite easy.

MISHNJIM 07-12-2011 01:45 AM

Never heard of them before...Just looked them up and you are so mean!!! I don't need to have another habit...LOL

materialgrl 07-12-2011 08:09 AM

Beautiful, can't wait to get a close up look at them.

Ripped on Scotch 07-12-2011 08:20 AM

Did you see the stencil of the christmas lights? I have that one too and I did colour that one as well... I think that one is my favourite but I have Judy's round so I can't add them to her top. not to worry I'll figure something out.

I have a sashing for between the 4 rows before the rounds start that is the fabric that the snowflakes are made out of. It should not make me square anymore!

Gramakitten 07-13-2011 03:28 PM

Ripped I mailed my row to you today. I think that I remembered all that you told me. Kathi/Gramakitten

JudyG 07-13-2011 03:38 PM

Shaysmema, my row is finally on it's way to you. Got it in the mail today. Can't wait to get Mish's.

Hope everyone is ready to get them in the mail and get started.

Ripped on Scotch 07-13-2011 06:17 PM

Sounds good Gramakitten. I'll let you know when I get it so we can time the length. I'll be sending mine out soon... I just have to do a label.

materialgrl 07-19-2011 04:03 PM

JudyG 07-19-2011 06:02 PM

Mish, I got your row last week. As I expected, it is every prettier in person than what showed up on the computer, and that was gorgeous. I was sooooo busy last week putting together hubby's 70th birthday party (it was last Friday, the 15th and we had so much fun). All our kids came up with our grandkids. By the time they left on Sunday, we were absolutely exhausted, but I was so glad to have them here for awhile. It was the first time we had all been together in about 7 or 8 years. I am hoping to get some sewing time in tomorrow.

MISHNJIM 07-20-2011 04:27 PM

Glad you guys were all able to get together and have a Wonderful time. Tell your DH "Happy Birthday". And Thank You for the compliment. I can't remember which blue I used because I'm making a wallhanging for my bedroom so that it will match the quilt.
