Congratulations! Glad things went well and you can get back to sewing.

JudyG 07-20-2011 06:18 PM

How many people have received rows to work on? I'm just wondering if we're on schedule with our mailings.

I received Mish's row and mailed mine to Shaysmema.

Ripped on Scotch 07-20-2011 06:20 PM

I'm late , so guys the blocks r done but no machine till tomorrow. I'm mailing it out this week though sorry guys

JudyG 07-20-2011 06:33 PM

Not a problem, ROS, you've had a good excuse.

Has anyone heard anything from KathyN? I don't think we've heard anything from her in quite a while.

I think it's been about 2 weeks. Hope everything is ok

[quote=JudyG]Okay Gals, here's the mailing list:

MishnJim>JudyG> Shaysmema> materialgrl> Gramakitten > Ripped on Scotch> KathyN> Belles>MishnJim [quote = JudyG]

Wow! The schedule I received previously indicated I send to KathyN. Which I did on July 18. I haven't heard from KathyN yet, so I don't know if she received it and is sending it on to MishnJim or returning it to me or what. Please advise and set me straight. Belles

Ripped on Scotch 07-20-2011 07:52 PM

I thought I was sending to belles. Now I'm confused!

I wrote that I sent my four - 6" blocks to KathyN, but diidn't show a photo of them - SORRY. Perhaps I was too intiminated by the absolutely beautiful first rows that our group has already posted. Anyway - here goes: Belles

First row of Rhapsody in Blue

Can someone clarify who I should mail my row to? I received belle's row, but according to the list, that is who I should be mailing to????

Ripped on Scotch 07-21-2011 02:48 AM

Ok easy fix would be to switch belles & Kathy. Kathy who did you send to?

MISHNJIM 07-21-2011 03:27 AM

In the email the order is MishnJim > JudyG > Shaysmema > MaterialGirl > Gramakitten > Ripped on Scotch > Belles > Kathy N > MishnJim

So we are all good now I send to Belles, Belles mailed hers correctly to Kathy and Kathy sends to Mish. Clear as mud?

That's the order that I have. I must have misspoke in the list that Belles quoted above. Sorry for the confusion. Can I ask that when we mail a center we post a note here so people know it's on its way and that when we receive a center we post also. It just works so much more smoothly if there is communication with all of us. Thanks a bunch. Can't wait to see these centers growing.

Belles, your Rhapsody in Blue is gorgeous. Blue is my absolutely favorite color. I can't wait to work on it.

Ripped on Scotch 07-21-2011 07:34 AM

Judy, I think I'm going to get to do a row for you.... woohoo I'm breaking out the paintstiks again! Well even if it's a round I may break them out again.

I would love to have the paintstiks on my quilt. I've been looking at them at the store. They look like so much fun.

Ripped on Scotch 07-21-2011 01:43 PM

Perfect then I will for sure be using them for your top

Kathy N 07-21-2011 03:01 PM

I haven't mailed yet, so we are in good shape. I will have my row finished on Saturday and mail on Sunday. Mish can you email me your address just to be safe. I know I have it somewhere but with the grandkids here, everything got packed up...it will take me forever to get my organized chaos back :)

Also since I am the deliquent one I'm including extra fabrics in my envelope so you don't have to shop to find matching fabric. Anyone can use it on their row/round until it is gone!!
That will save you time Mish since I'm shorting you by two weeks.

Here is Mish's second row. I decided instead of making a leaf pattern to keep with her first row, I would use fabric with a leaf in it. The block pattern is called Cyclone. Hope you like it Mish. The leaf fabric is showing up lighter than it really is. Looks better in person.

Belles.hold 07-24-2011 10:53 AM

I finally had the time to carefully (and that's the operative word) to look through the first (and some second) rows that were posted. WOW! It is going to be difficult to add to the talent, skill, creativity and beauty of ROS, Mishnjim, Gramakitten, Materialgrl, Shaysmema and JudyG. And I'm sure KathyN's row will be just as terrific.

I think that working with you ladies has stretched my knowledge, creativity and skill. I'm so glad we continued our group - we can only grow in experience. Belles

PS Thanks for the compliment on my first Rhapsody in Blue embroidered row, Judy G. At first I embroidered the four patterns on a long strip of fabric. Unfortunately I didn't space them correctly and two of them were too close. Not to worry, I cut them apart, salvaged two of the patterns for the project and will use the two that were too narrow as elbow patches on my favorite denim jacket!

Thanks for everyone on your compliments. And I agree that this is a great group to work with. Everyone has different ideas and are soooo creative. I have to work really hard to keep up with all of you and no do the same boring thing all the time.

And aren't you just the smart one to use your excess embroidered blocks as elbow patches!!! I can't believe how creative people (including you) are. I never know what to do with things that don't end up being what I wanted them to be. My mind seems to only work in one way.

I finished my row and it will mail to Mishnjim tomorrow. I'm going with a Shabby Chic theme, in lovely pastels with Roses. The fabric collection is called Scarborough Fair from RJR Fabrics. Here are some photos.

I also finished Belle's 2nd row today. I stuck with the Blues and Embroidered blocks. I'm not going to sew the two rows together just in case the next person wants to do pieced blocks. Then they can alternate the embroidered blocks. Its going to be so pretty with all the shades of blue! A true Blue Rhapsody!

The blues are much more vibrant in person.

I love the Blue & Brown together!

I would just like you all to know I moved everything back into my sewing room. and during the moving process I found the labels from VirtualBernies round last time. Hurray!

JudyG 07-24-2011 07:24 PM

Love your shabby chic rose block, Kathy. That will be fun to work with.

MISHNJIM 07-25-2011 02:49 PM

Love it Judy just Love it!!! YAY!!! So, Kathy???? Does that mean that you are sending me 2 row's in the envelope? I like the embroidery you did and your Shaddy Chic row.

Kathy N 07-25-2011 03:38 PM

Yes, I have them both packaged up to go. I figured since I cheated you out of a couple of weeks on the first one, I would give you extra time on the 2nd one. I hope you don't mind. They are both four 4" blocks so they are quick and easy.

I was supposed to mail today, but I ran late this morning, so they will go out tomorrow. You should have by Thursday!

Its normally about 2 weeks to get here so I should get it on Thrusday or Friday this week...which is good because Monday is a Stat holiday so I can work on it. If you want to mail the next set you can as it will also take 2 weeks for here. I'll let you know as soon as I get it.

Good luck to your hubby with his surgery. Mine had it done on both eyes last summer and was soooo glad he did. He doesn't even have to wear glasses now.

I was in there all night last night! but I have all my jelly roll strips together for a lap quilt I'm making. Now to finish that up, shouldn't take long.

Which reminds me I have to add the borders on last years Row robin so I can quilt that one up too. That to do list is never ending!

MISHNJIM 07-26-2011 02:45 PM

That's fine Kathy...I'll keep an eye out for the package.

Nancy, there is absolutely NOTHING shabby about your sweet blocks. I appreciate your sending MishnJim the two rows separately. Perhaps she will insert a patchwork row between them which should highlight all the rows.

ROS, I still haven't received your row, but I guess the mail takes longer from and to Canada. I will patiently await your beautiful row. Belles

Good luck to your DH. Five of my friends recently had cataract surgery and they were all very successful. They see better and their quilts are brighter! In fact, although I don't have cataracts I envy them their success......only kidding! Belles
