I have had my rowenta for about 4 years and have had no trouble at all. I use the steam or without the steam and no problems at all.

Spend money in sending mine to the factory because it was less than a year old bought at Joanns. They stated the date stamped on the iron inside said it was two years old and wouldn't honor the warranty. Bought a second one and it started to leak after 4 months of use. Will never again buy a Rowenta!

I have to say nothing is made with quality anymore and I have just gotten used to that fact and accepted it.
Today, however, I just picked up a very old hutch made out of solid wood that is 4 generations old and built to LAST! Oh.. the good old days. |
I agree - Rowenta's are way over rated. Just go to WalMart and get one for $25. They last just as long as the ones that cost $100+. I have tried them all. It really costs more than an iron is worth to have it repaired.

I have a Rowenta that was purchased in the early 90's and it is great. I think they may be living on their reputation and not keeping their quality up.

I had the same thing happen to me. I called customer service and they said they were sorry and offered me a $5 coupon on another iron, I quickly declined and said I will NEVER buy Rowenta again. I got a Black & Decker at Wally World for about $12, I think, and it is just fine.

I have had one Rowenta and mine leaked too. First the steamer quit and then later it leaked and spit and sputtered.. Cheaper irons for me from now on! Fool me once but never twice. LOL

Just threw my rowenta away tuesday, it leaked alot for a long time. My son bought me a new shark iron. Its lightweight ad hot and does not leak.
|
I wish I had read this before I just bought a Rowenta because I already hate it It is much to heavy to use for any length of time I have had three Sharks and they have never disappointed me but Walmart didnt have any when I went to get another and Rowenta were on sale at Joannes when I got there

I had the same problem over and over and over. I finally bought a new iron and refuse to even put water in it. I couldn't find a dry iron for purchase so I use a spray bottle with water & go steamless and use spray starch.
