Ruler with cutter attached

Was looking at the rulers that had the cutters attached - Fiskars, Haskals, Nancy's etc
has anyone used them and what did you think?
I really think this might help me but haven't seen one in action.
thanks

I bought one from Eleanor Burns place - sure can't get it to work right. Gave up, too busy to mess with it now. I was really disappointed!!!.

Do you mean it would help you cut strips? If you haven't tried a June Tailor Shape Cut mat, I would suggest that first. I had a cutter like this for paper and was unimpressed; think I would be even less impressed with fabric.

p.s. I have seen people recommend it for children, though, as it is quite safe -- especially compared to regular rotary cutters.

I have had my Friskars for a number of years and love it for the safety of it. When I taught a quilting class last winter that was what I put out at the cutting table. No ER visits!!!!

I have an older Fiskars rolling ruler and I love it. Because I have arthritis in my hands it is difficult for me to cut several layers of fabric at once using a rotary cutter or scissors. However, using my rolling ruler, I do not have this problem. At the last quilt show I attended one of the vendors had a demo using the new ruler and it was very impressive.

While shop hopping for the row by row, quite a few shops used them to cut the fabric.

Try looking at the TruCut rulers and rotary cutters at http://www.graceframe.com. The rotary cutter rides on a ridge on the ruler. It has improved our cutting accuracy 100%. No wobbling of the rotary cutter makes a difference. I also put their brand of stickers on the bottom of my rulers. They really help hold them in place. I have just had to learn to pick up the ruler and place it, instead of sliding it like I did before
