there are may specality rulers out there to se for "easier" cutting. some of these seem to be used for only 1 function and are pretty expensive (too much $$$$ for me) Most cuts can be ade sing regular rulers. Actually it is nice that they give you the cutting for different rulers. after you become more experienced then you can choose the method that you like best!

In the end most are the same, they figure out the calculations for you already, some allow for skipped steps of other rulers, other have nice grippies, others have points. some have points cut out.. it just depends on if you want to spend the funds on them.. Do what your most comfortable with.. try w/o the specialty ruler and if you ok with that way no need for the ruler. If you looking for speed and accuracy ( which is my case) try the ruler..

Exactly why I will always buy the specialty ruler if one is available. I could make do with plain rulers but I don't want to.
