I would like to try some ruler work someday. Gosh, there is so much I want to try. :) I just looked at the Jamie Wallen link & he is awesome & a great teacher. I better study his work before I ever start anything like this on my own.

I bought the Westalee Template starter set. I like it. I didn't have any problem learning how to use the rulers.

Need to call my lqs and see if they have them.

Thanks for all of your encouraging responses! I was able to get the foot on my machine today, that felt like quite an accomplishment in itself:) Did a short test run but without my slider and gloves and I'm sure they will help. I'm also still learning my new machine, so I will have to be patient with the process.

Susie-Susie- wish me luck, too. Let us know how you are doing once you decide to jump in.

I bought one of Amy's classes & the foot & a few rulers over the past 6 months or so. It is fun to do. Like anything new, it takes practice but I think anyone can do it with good results. The rulers do all the work once they are placed properly. The rulers are very expensive but I keep adding one here & there & I love learning new techniques to expand my quilting. Have fun!

I too have the Westallee starter set. It has a learning curve for me, but I get better all the time. I am just learning free motion quilting, so with your experience, you should have no problem! I have fun with them, and get some practice in making charity or neonatal quilts.

I'm not the OP but I'm also excited to hear the positive responses about these rulers. I just purchased the starter pack and foot and am anxious to play! Thanks for the link to Jamie Wallen ... I had not found his videos when searching you tube:)

I'm back. I ordered the rulers and they came yesterday. I have several things to finish before trying them, but they look great and easy to use. I can't wait to begin practicing with them. I did read the directions and looked at a few tutorials. I think I will be able to get to practicing by the beginning of next week. So excited to get started.

I too bought the rulers and had to order the adapter for my bernina. Foot number 72. Then I pulled the tendon on my right arm and have had to wait until it healed to use them. Always something when you get old, huh? Sheesh.
I have been playing on the embroidery machine and doing regular sewing in short spurts.
