Ruler that sharpens the rotary cutter?

I just saw advertised a ruler that says it sharpens your rotary cutter with each cut.

Have any of you tried this? Did it really work?

It sounds good, but I am rather skeptical!

I ordered one.....even if it doesn't sharpen it is a nice sized ruler! We will just wait and see. Where else can you get a ruler for $5.77?

Missouri Star just sent me an e-mail. They have one today, that is 4.5 inches sq. for .77, that sharpens also!

I have one. It doesn't sharpen and in fact, after just a few uses the metal sharpening strip thing peeled right off. I just took it off and use it as a regular ruler. The ruler part is great, but unless its a serious sale, I wouldn't buy it again.

Every review I've read of these rulers was bad, so I haven't tried one.

I haven't tried one either but I would bet it is nothing but a piece of junk.

..wish the claim were true..save some $$ on replacement blades, but I think it's not.....

I bought the 6 1/2" square and the strip peeled off the first time my blade got near it. It didn't sharpen my blade (didn't have time to even try) but I really like the lines on it as they are easy to read and mine (Sullivan's Edge) has lovely red lines clearly marked for squaring up blocks and HST's smaller than 6 1/2". It was on sale and worth the price but I'm not using it the way it was intended.

I had one and threw it away. Every cut felt like fingernails down a chalkboard. Yeech....

If you want to sharpen your blades I recommend the Tru Cut electric blade sharpener. http://www.graceframe.com/site/rotarycutting/truesharp You want to buy direct from them as there are knock offs that don't work. You also want the top of the line model. We have really extended the life of our blades using it and rarely have to buy new ones. I take the time to sharpen the blades whenever I have the least bit of trouble cutting. If you let the blades get too dull or get a nick out of them then you will have trouble getting them sharp again.

PS I also love their rulers and rotary cutters.
