Ruler work
 

I think it was Gina Perkes on YouTube that was using pieces of shelf liner under her rulers to keep them from slipping. I thought I would give it a try and bought a roll for $2 at the $ store. I used a strip under my Bernina ruler with the wavy edge because I have been having trouble keeping it in place due to the fact that the foot has to ride in both the valleys and peaks. It works really well and all I have to work on now is keeping my stitches even. The shell liner also works well under my regular rulers for cutting. I have enough shelf liner to last the rest of my quilting life I think.:D[ATTACH=CONFIG]580416[/ATTACH]

Great idea! It would not work so well if you have to see through the ruler to line up registration marks, but otherwise, a great solution. I use a really grippy, clear, self stick sandpaper like Handi Quilter sells, as I use the etched markings on my ruler templates. That shelf liner also works well for hanging onto your quilt to move it for FMQ'ing , if you just use a couple of small scraps under your fingers, instead of gloves.

Who would have thought? Not me. Amazing what quilters come up with.

Well, for heaven's sake! I didn't have a clue about rulers for quilting - now I'm on the hunt! I've been using the sticky-on paper that one quilts through or just meandering. Thanks so much for sharing.
