If you can't get rid of the carpet yet, just throw an old king size flat sheet down and you can pick it up and shake the thread off of it when done. Much better than trying to clean threads out of carpet.

It look a couple of days as I had to move things to one end and back again. I also had to wait to have my husband help me move the big stuff (14' long arm and cabinets left over from his business). Anyway this product comes in 6" X 36" strips and overlaps kind of like laminate. It has a 25 year warranty and comes in 3 colors. My handyman said "Oh, you went with wood in here."

I also put my own linoleum down in the sewing room. I also put my back out and had to call my friend for help. She died sadly last year of ovarian cancer, she is sorely missed.

Gotta worry about the bright red carpet though....what to do?

Hi, I'm back! One word of advice. Never move and take on ton of restoration/repairs, etc., so close to Christmas!

Love our house (still somewhat stuck in the 60's), love our neighbors and, the one room that is fully finished and ready (you guessed it), Sally's Sewing Room (my hideout). No pics yet because, right now, drapery fabric all over and I'm dying to start piecing...Quilts! But, yep, the red carpet is gone, woodlike linoleum is down and the dark paneling is now sparkling white. DH put me an electric fireplace for warmth and whatever....

How wonderful and what a supportive DH. Happy quilting in your lovely haven.

Well, My neighbor had a red carpet she hated when they bought their home - now, 20 years later she has replaced it - you guessed it - with another red carpet - it just grew on her! LOL
Congrats on the new sewing room (& house).
