my favorite Christmas gift came from Santa. when dh and i got home from seeing the 3 dd and dgkds there was a package wrapped in news paper, we had agreed not to exchange gifts. Inside the wrapping was a cardboard from a bolt of fabric. On the bolt this was written "Dearest Nancy, Santa is giving this to you because your husband wrote to me about how you had some money for sewing material and that his truck kept breaking down and costing so much to repair , you were afraid you didnt have enough money to buy material. I asked Mrs Clause what kind of material to buy and she said it depends on what you are going to sew & make, So i decided to let you buy your own.
Merry Xmas Saint Nick. He left me $500!!!!!

They can be surprising from time to time. I am glad it was your time, enjoy every moment. Just think how long you can fondle fabric at the LQS with that kind of roll!!!!!!!!

That was sure sweet of him, and it sounds like you were pretty deserving of it. I didn't get $500, but I did get the go ahead today to spend another $100 on fabric, and that was after he got mre some grerat stuff for Christmas. He's a keeper! Had him around for almsot 57 years.
