I would add sashing, then a wide border. Solid colored sashing and a wonderful floral print for the borders. Without sashing the quilt will be really small, I would try a darker solid color for the sashing, this will separate the blocks and make them more prominent, without sashing the blocks all run together.
Look at the quilt on your design wall for a while before you decide, don't rush to finish it up, the quilt will tell you what it needs.

I like the sashing added, as it makes it more interesting.

I think so too. A darker sashing I think would show off the colors of the blocks.
But it does look good without sashing.

lynnsim 10-23-2011 08:22 AM

You've made a good decision -- without sashing. But it looks good either way. Will be looking for completed quilt.

Anna O 10-23-2011 08:39 AM

If you want to make the quilt bigger, then use sashing. If you like the size it is, then don't. Looks good either way!

.Without sashing........i like the picture how it is done.....

mucky 10-23-2011 09:12 AM

Since yours is a scrappy quilt and the pattern was not, I think I'd sash.

iquilttooo 10-23-2011 09:22 AM

I like the secondary design you get without the sashing.

kwiltnutt 10-23-2011 09:24 AM

I like the sashing.

Greenheron 10-23-2011 09:24 AM

glenda5253 10-23-2011 09:47 AM

My vote is without.

grannypat7925 10-23-2011 11:34 AM

The sashing sets it off. I vote for sashing!

Teddybear Lady 10-23-2011 11:37 AM

I think without sashing would work.

anniesews 10-23-2011 12:11 PM

It looks real nice without sashing.

Nanaquilts44 10-23-2011 12:42 PM

I like it without the sashing better. It will look great either way.

my thoughts, too

Mine, also.

quilt crazee 10-24-2011 07:36 AM

I think either would be pretty BUT I think the sashing you have up there is to ?blah?-that something brighter, or white ordark would pop better! Know colors don't always come over good, just seems it washes a little! pretty blocks!

quilt crazee 10-24-2011 07:36 AM

oopps!

mayday 10-24-2011 01:47 PM

PREFER WITH.

Cheshirecatquilter 10-24-2011 03:44 PM

Sashing will give you some more opportunities for interesting quilting, just saying.

sewbeadit 10-24-2011 04:01 PM

Yes looks good both ways. Flip a coin? :)

pippa45 10-28-2011 12:44 AM

I like it with the sashing, but both are great.
