Here is a tutorial that follows the sketch from IceBlossom.

Hope that helps!

Nice work. I love the colors too! I am not going to be any help at all as I like it with and without the sashing. Without sashing, you get a nice look with the "o's" looking like they are set in a square on point. With the sashing you get the very defined x's and o's. It is going to be pretty either way. You won't be able to go wrong.

I also like it with or without sashing. Borders would look nice also and make it bigger.

Such a cute pattern and you did a great job on the blocks. They are all so pretty. I made the same pattern for one of my granddaughters using just "bug" fabric. She was called Katie Bug by her Dad when she was born and the name has stuck with her. I put a 2 1/2" inner boarder of white fabric and then made pinwheels out of the corners I had cut off from the X's and O's. The pinwheels I put all around the quilt and then added another 2 1/2" border. The pinwheel blocks ended up finished 2 1/2" squares My binding I made from different bug fabrics and it was a scrappy binding. I don't know how to put a picture on this QB. Good luck to you with you border decision.

I agree with you this is a good option. At first I was thinking no sashing but the more I read the more I thought it would be a good choice. Of course it is always up to the quilter.
