You could use a scrappy binding for your quilt. Just a thought, but with all of the different colors, a binding that matches that should set off your colors nicely. Otherwise, I wouldn't change the quilt.

Great quilt. Border...looks great as is, but if you want it bigger use his favorite color. Binding...do you have any extra material from making the quilt? I would do a scrappy binding using those same fabrics - scrappy quilts look great with scrappy bindings.

I saw a trend at a quilt show last spring. Lots of pretty quilts without an outside border. I liked it, esp on detailed quilts. I don't think your quilt calls for a border. IMHO

i vote for a dark, solid binding. Why compete with all of the colors in the quilt?

Well the quilt is finished, sort of. The boys were leaving Sat and they wouldn't let do any quilting on the Boarder. I really wished I had a red or enough of the blocks to do a different binding, but the green is all I had enough of. They were being very silly trying to take a pic of it. They love it and that's all that counts. Thank you all for your suggestions. It really helped me.

That is a pretty quilt. Lots of triangles and pretty colors.
