Wow, wouldn't that poster scene make a great quilt!!! Just leave out the bottom part with all the men and do your trees, leaves. etc. It would really set the "Big Guy" off nicely and make him the focus if that is what your intentions are. If you wanted it to be less obvious, you could add more trees and such in, over, and around him. I love the silhouette on this poster. I think you are going to have fun with this no matter what you decide.

I think you first need to decide on if you want to make a close up, a silhouette or a forest scene. Then you can find a picture you like to make into a pattern. Be sure to use a picture that has strong light and shadow as it will be easier to make a pattern. If the pattern part is not your strong point I would be happy to help you make a pattern if you choose the picture.

I live in the Pacific NW and am a big fan of NW Native art. The link below will take you to a native design for a Sasquatch mask. There is an artist by the name of Sue Coleman whose are reflects both native design and the subject of the native design. I have a painting of hers where you see the frame of a native longhouse with a bald eagle perched on it and one of the pillars holding up the frame is a totem with the bald eagle featured prominently. It is just lovely and might be a fun way to do your quilt. Use the native design and a portrait for Sasquatch. PM me if you want help with the pattern.

I've downloaded several images and will work on making a usable image for quilting. In my earlier days of quilting, I had a sheet of Plexiglas cut to the size of the middle leaf of my dining table and placed a lamp underneath for tracing/copying, etc. Works like magic! plus I don't have to tape my patterns to my sliding doors and look the fool! lol

http://shop.hobbylobby.com/store/ite...?ItemId=151240 for a Tracer Projector And Enlarger for $29.99. I found one on sale for only $9.99 and returned the next day with a friend only to find them back up to $29.99.

I have a little projector my mother bought in the 60's, and if they still make them they shouldn't be too expensive. It was called a Magnajector. It would only project an original that was about 3 x 4" or so, but it worked great. Took a regular lightbulb, so very simple.

Or use your printer/copier to enlarge it to the size you want.

I am currently working on a poppy quilt that relates to the Flanders field and Veterens. If I had a projector it would have been soooooo spectacular! I am making this poppy quilt to donate to a VFW post in MI . The city refused to allow an old gent ,a WW2 VET to stand on the spot he had for many many years on the day the vets hand out poppies for donations thier proceeds decreased buy a couple thousand due to this. They clamed saftey yet let the town fire dept stand in the same spot a few months later to raise money..... Well I am getting carried away I do tend to get pasionate .....

I so have to raise some money for a projector!

I am overwhelmed in a good way with all the ideas I am getting . I am considering getting rid of my stash and focusing on these types of quilts! I will be getting a projector soon. I have had so many ideas in the past but was limited by my lack of ability to draw. I can't wait. I will be making at least two of these sasquacth quilts, well most likely wall hangingsand maybe three one for me,one for my brother and maybe one for my son, not sure about for my son yet. It depends on his reaction to the ones I do. I can't wait to get this started!

I am sorry Dunster for snipping at you, I was being overly sensitive I realize and immature, it comes from life time of being made fun of for one thing or another . I still march to the beat of my own drum and have learned to accept ridicule but occasionaly have a weak moment,It was wrong to take it out on you.
