I am not using the bolts that I believe you are thinking of. The new thing is a long piece of corragated card board with the ends turned to the center. I cut the ends off at the fold, cut the ends off the large middle piece and then cut that piece in half. I wouldn't think that the card board would ruin your fabric anymore than leaving it folded on the shelf. I will do pictures as soon as I get some order to this mess!

I wrapped fabric on white cardboard cake boards but the fabric that I know I won't be using anytime soon, like my backing stash, I roll and keep out of the light. Folded fabric, after time, will be funny looking at the fold line.
