My HP all-in-one won't scan....it will copy if I put something on the glass but it won't scan to save to the computer. The copy will only print. Always been this way since I installed the printer to my computer. My Epson, on the other hand, will do everything...scan, copy, etc. Go figure!!!

i would recommend a few things:

1. uninstall the printer software, restart your computer, then reinstall it.
2. if that doesn't work, check the HP website to see if there are any driver upgrades available for your printer
3. check also for Firmware updates. (Firmware is software that is sent to and installed on the printer itself.)
