Gingher's, definitely Gingher's.....and woe to the member of my household who steals them from my studio to cut anything but fabric!!
I'd go with the Gingher, I have a couple & love them, in fact I also have one of the same quality that is a Singer.
Have had Ginghers for at least 40 years. I sent them back to the company once for sharpening.
Ginghers are not as expensive as they use to be. I think I paid about $25 for 8" metal dressmaker and about $12 for the molded handle Ginghers. Having several pair in the desk and kitchen drawer keeps the family from ever looking for the 'good' scissors. The pair I have in the kitchen have cut everything and still sharp after many years.

For tip sharpness, I love my Dovo scissors...for cutting I do like Gingher, abut use my Fiskar soft-touch scissors the most ...they are easier on my hand which had surgery many years ago.
I love my gingher designer scissors. They are so pretty, they just make me happy! Sounds silly, I know.
I just bought my first pair of Ginghers!! Of course I used a 50% off coupon! before the coupon they were 38.00...Now I hate to actually use them...don't want to dull them!! LOL
I have Fiskars. They weren't real expensive and I like the weight of them. Some of the scissors are heavy.
Love my Ginghers too :)

Thanks everyone for your replies and Ginghers certainly seem to be favourite ! I am going to a big quilt festival here in the UK next month, so I will be looking out for them !!
