Chiclets is a great free pattern, and uses 2.5 inch squares. Just start making 4 patches, then combine 4 of those into the 16 patch.

Thanks you for all the replies so far. Can't wait to check some of these sites to see what I can find that interests me.

What I have done when faced with a pile of scraps, is to sew them together on muslin blocks. I can then cut up the blocks any way I like, using it just like fabric, and I make almost any kind of quilt with it. It's really quite exciting to do!

Try favequilts.com. I find lots of great patterns there especially for charity scrap quilts as that is what our members donate.

Why not cut your scraps into 4 inch blocks? Moda Bake Shop has some cute scrappies. I like working with 2 1/2 inch strips. If I ever figure out how to load pics, you'll get to see them.

Thanks for the link to Mary's Quilts. I have the fabric for Birds on a Wire and was wondering what to do with it! Perfect!

this is one we call Sugar and Spice. Good if you have a lot of white or muslin scraps. We make it with really small pieces but you can adapt to any size.

I really like this. What size pieces do you use?

This tutorial is a bit confusing and maybe you can come up with your own approach but it will use your scraps without being scrappy. http://www.annamariahorner.com/Feather.Bed.Quilt.pdf
