Scrappy Swoon-Inspired by Charisma's post a few weeks ago--not sure about my fabrics
 

I saw Charisma's post a few weeks ago with a photo of the scrappy swoon quilt she made and I really admired it. I had a bunch of pinks and aqua fabrics from something that I had just completed so I went to work.

I like the overall look but I am thinking that maybe most of my background fabrics have too much color in them? Also, I think I went too light and too dark on a few pink and aqua fabrics. Does you eye see this too or is my eye too critical?

ETA: I should mention that these photos are before I connected the blocks so if some of the points look wonky, that is why.

I think you are being a bit critical- I really like it!

I think it is pretty, but I think I would have put some pinks in the center star to create more of a flow of color.

It really looks great in the photo, I think you did a wonderful job selecting the fabrics. Variety is the spice of life.

Oh yes.. i love this too!! i see the full range of light to dark in both families and I especially like the use of the lightest prints in the back-ground..makes it all pop in a soft, pleasing way.

I find that you did an excellent job with scattering your darks. I really think it is great just as it is. My bedroom for decades have been mauve and aqua......

I love it and I think its perfect the way it is - oh woe is me another thing to add to my list. :)

Actually I think that the darker ones set it off quite nicely. You would not want it to be too "middle of the road". It's great. I am sometimes critical of my own work as well. Maybe we all are, and that is why we need each other.

I think I see what you mean but I absolutely love it the way it is. Totally lends itself to the scrappy random look. Hey, why don't you finish it and send it my way? I could totally take it off your hands if it bothers you!!!!
