After all, scraps are the beginning of quilting.

Never too many pictures. You're making lovely use of your valuable scraps.

WOW, your scraps quilts are great, you inspire, I am heading to my sewing room to cut and organize my 3 boxes of scraps.

Very valuable indeed!! Thank you for the visual reminder. We Paid good money for those scraps. And, bonus, they are very versatile.

I too love working with squares. You can do so many different things. But, basic patchwork is a wonderful thing! Although, I am hooked on triangles right now.

And, I love your little purses.

[QUOTE=1000scraps;8125052 Hello, it is only a roughly measurement, I weighed 1 m of Kona Cotton fabric! If I suppose that other fabrics weigh less then there will be more than 15 m of scraps! And one question: what means "Museimer"?[/QUOTE]

We haven't heard yet: "what means "Museimer". I don't know either.

Aurora: Please tell me what "locker hooking" is.

After my love of touching fabric, comes my love for collecting scraps. Several people from the senior center I sew at, save their scraps (little squares, strips and triangles) for me and I put them in a plastic bag. I am always amazed when someone cuts a quilt down for binding and then just throws the extra fabric and batting away. Yesterday, I retrieved fabric from 2 people about to throw their scraps away.

As you say, the fabric adds up to yardage and as high as cotton prices are getting, I can't imagine throwing away money like that. I pick up pennies off the ground because 10 pennies still make a dime and 10 dimes still make a $1.00.

On the other hand, after buying quilting gizmos that I just have to have because they look like they will save time or make something easier and then never use them again, I also can be 'penny wise and pound foolish." Go figure...

Muhseim means making an effort. The original poster uses it to mean someone who makes a big effort.
