heyjami, I would take them and use them if you are interested in decreasing your scrape stash. I know that many others on the board also use scraps in beautiful ways. PM and perhaps we can make a trade of yardage for scraps.

I love scrappy quilts, so make many for family & charities, but the pieces that are too small for even a scrappy quilt I use as stuffing for pet beds for the animal shelter. The shelters & the animals love them. So don't throw away the scraps, some person or animal can benefit.

I just finished a strip quilt..I used dryer square..sewed scraps corner to corner..when full..cut them in to 6" blocks..I left the dryer squares attached..still have tons of scraps..

How about making some sawtooth paper pieced strips for a future border.

You can make "Wonky Fabric" with them. Cut out some 12" or so, squares of clean newsprint and just start sewing them down from one corner to the other. Or from one side to the other. You don't have to watch your seam width, so it goes quickly. Just be sure all the raw edges are covered. You can sew short ones together before you sew them to the paper. I do one color range at a time. After you're finished, leave the paper on the back and store them in new pizza boxes. When you get ready to use it, you can then cut it into smaller blocks and put sashing between it for a real scrappy quilt or when you need a cute applique, you can cut it out of your wonky fabric and it looks like you pieced it especially for that. A lady from Australia showed how to do this on "Simply Quilts" a long time back. I use fleece scraps for stuffing dog beds for the animal shelter, but the fabric ones make nice throw pillow stuffing.

Thank you for posting about your scraps. It's so nice to see so many takers for them. Your recycled scraps will be 'new' to them.

I sew mine in strips (like crazy quilts) then I use them for borders or sashing, I even started sewing strips by color, they make wonderful borders! I use strips of paper as foundation that I get from the copy room at school.

There was a posting, with photos, of a quilter who sewed short scrap strips onto rolls of old paper adding machine tape & trimmed the edges, then rolled them into homemade jelly-rolls. Perfect size for binding or sashing or borders.
