Melissa, The easiest patterns I have come across are Eleanor Burns, Quilt in a Day patterns. she has many books out there for all levels of quilters. Her web site if fantastic with fabric, books, notions etc. No affiliation, just a happy customer.

I have her courthouse steps. It looks pretty good. It's on my list of possibles. I try to plan which quilts I do next. Thanks to the responses on this thread I have a whole lot of ideas now!!

I love to use a modified log cabin block. Am posting a picture of one that I made recently. The middle square is cut at 6 1/1 inches square the other pieces are strips cut at 2 1/2 pieces. I will try to post a picture of it so you can see what I mean. You can chain piece it real easy. Start with the first piece and sew all of them on, cut them apart and then go to the second piece etc. etc.

By far the absolute easiest quilt pattern I've come across on the web is this one: http://byannie.com/free_patterns.html it's appropriately called "Wickedly Easy" I've done the crib size 36 x 52 in about 3 1/2 hours. You just have to try it.
Here is one I did in pink and white

It's hanging over the lap size I did in blue and yellow

I also have CFS, lupus, and fibromyalgia. I have decided to try my hand at quilting because it looks like something I can out down for awhile if I need to!

I can't get the wickedly easy pattern to load. Is there somewhere else to get it? That looks great and I need a pattern for something quick and easy cause some of the girls at work are having babies.

That looks great for a beginner. I am printing it out! I am getting so many ideas here I think I shall start a little notebook. Soon I will have my own little quilting book!
