If anyone is familiar with it. I seen it on the walls of the Essenhaus Inn, Middlebury Ind. It had rotating? squares in the centre, now I wish I had taken a picture of it, but did not. It was rather plain aside from the circle of squares in the centre and as I said they had the appearance of rotating. Is anyone familiar with this pattern and maybe a name? Thanks for any and all help.

Is this the block you are looking for? This one is a broken wheel.
|
No I do not think that is it, it was more six or more blocks that met at the centre on the ends and kind of overlapped each other to make a circle of sorts.
|
The block did not repeat itself it was one large block in the centre, it was a good size.

I bet that if you contacted them, and described the quilt to them they would be able to tell you something about it. At the very least, maybe they would snap a photo and email the photo to you. You could then post it here and maybe someone will recognize the block.
I went to their site....looks like a great place to visit. Maybe Craftybear is up for a trip   http://www.essenhaus.com/index |
That is a good idea, not sure why I did not take a picture of that particular quilt, had my camera with me. Not thinking as usual. Will try that way, you never know it could work. Thanks.

I think maybe you're talking about card trick...I think that's the name.

No it was not card trick, unless it was a spin on card trick, the squares all were directed to the centre on the diagonal. I might call the quilt shop at Essenhaus tomorrow and ask them if they would know, it was different then the typical card trick.

I'm betting it's the Amish Star Spin pattern. http://www.amishcountrylanes.com/Pages/hs205.shtml
