CraftsByRobin 04-09-2010 07:35 PM

I have been looking and looking ... I've even went to the 'coloring' pages ... but can't find a snowman / snowpeople / snowwoman pattern that is "cute" and "free" ... or even one I could purchase.

I did a search on this site ... but everyone I've went through so far is no longer working ...

I think I'm going to have to make my own patterns to use ... this isn't going to be pretty ya'll

Any suggestions or patterns you all know of that you'd be willing to share (if allowed by the pattern copyright) ... OR any ideas to help me make my own pattern ...?

Thanks

What kind of snowman are you looking for? Give us a hint to what you think is 'cute'.

Take a look at these - they are free:

If you scroll to the right on this site & look at Jan thru Dec of 2009, they are all snowpeople appliques:

ok--there are plenty online. here's a tip [you may know]

when you see the google logo on the homepage, do NOT type in the search box. LOOK in the UPPER LEFT corner. CLICK on IMAGES, now when the searchbox comes up, TYPE snowman quilt pattern, there are pages of them!!! This is how you find IMAGES first, then websites. it is a sort of shortcut. just BE SPECIFIC when you use it & you will get more of what you are looking for.

yes bunny hill has a cute snowman BOM going on right now. it is free you just have to watch each month to get the patterns but you can still get the patterns from the last 3 months

ktbb 04-10-2010 06:46 AM

when all else fails, find a children's coloring book that has winter subjects in it and I"m sure you'll fins a snowman pattern to trace and use as an applique.

The children's coloring books these days are a far cry from the ones of my childhood with the simple line drawings. I've been looking in them at the stores and find very few that have the kind of drawings I am looking for.

I find mine in the dollar store, Walmart, etc. Sometimes in school supply stores, etc. Found my stock several years ago and keep using them again and again so maybe things have changed. The series I have (bought 6 out of a series of 10) is marked as "beginning coloring" for the very young children.

I"ve also found very simple designs by checking out teacher resource sites on-line...not just quilting resources. Good luck.

This is a cute pattern I've used.

This page has lots of them.

Karen's Kreations 04-11-2010 06:45 AM

Have you checked out Bunny Hill Designs? She's posted a snowman block of the month. Maybe one of them will fill the bill. It's a free pattern.

Honey 04-11-2010 07:20 AM

Go to Amazon and check out the books by Pat Olson. She has adorable stuff and is very reasonable.

Norene B 04-11-2010 07:33 AM

Does anyone have the link to the snowman on bunnyhill.com?
I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

vickimc 04-11-2010 07:56 AM

You can also try www.fatcatpatterns.com. She has lots of free patterns on her website and they are all categorized. You might find something you like there. She has a great block of the month Christmas row quilt going on right now and it might be another one you would be interested in.

CraftsByRobin 04-11-2010 03:21 PM

brushandthimble 04-11-2010 03:25 PM

I think I have a couple bookmarked on my laptop, unfortunately I have a virus on it and need to get that fixed; currently I am on my son's.

susanlh 04-11-2010 03:41 PM

RedGarnet222 04-11-2010 04:18 PM

I bet if you went to the library there would be a debbie mumm quilt book you could check out. She made some really cute ones.
