I want to know different ways of securing the layers together, rather than stitching in the ditch, is it possible to secure in some other way such as tie it together in certain areas, or any other ideas, and what should I use.
Sorry I sound perplexed but I am. Idle Di:(

Another tip on tying is to use a curved sharp needle. And tie each area with a square knot, than another knot on top of the square knot. Then it won't loosen up, even after washing. Looking forward to seeing your completed quilt.

I tried the invisible stitch on a small quilt and did not like the waste of the thread. You still see the stitch. I do like the idea of using a decorative tack stitch. One thing about using yarn, you can always use it to hook a rug if the extra scraps are about 3 inches. Bookoos of videos to learn to tie.
