I had a meander pattern done on a log cabin and it looked great and allowed the log cabin pattern to be the star.

I would do STID, but follow the color lines to emphasize that and not the log cabin shape -- the quilting would be more of a diagonal.

I have to agree that SITD is great on log cabins to bring out the logs. That would be my choice for that pattern too.

Love your quilt! Members have given you some great suggestions for quilting. I read this because my next quilt will be a log cabin quilt. For my quilt, I'm going with MacThayer's suggestion. Haven't decided what I'll do with the borders, probably a braid design. I can't wait to see how you quilt yours. Best wishes!
