I did do a couple of 5-inch swaps - I learned that not all fabrics cut up equally cute-ly for I Spy quilts.

I did fussy cutting and there was quite a bit of leftover fabrics - but I was able to rescue quite a bit of it by cutting 2x5, 2.5x5, and 3x5 rectangles from some of it.

That is a good idea to save the scraps. Some fabrics, I wasted alot of. I save all my scraps for my daughters friend who sews. She can't afford to buy fabric, so she gets all of it that I don't want to deal with. She's getting all my smaller pieces that don't make a 5inch square too. She'll be able to make her own I-spy.
