Thanks for the great idea of a selvage apron. I am going to make one for our Peony shop workers.

After reading Sunday Morning Quilts, I save my selvages to knit a rug. I've been saving a little over a year, and think I may be close to having enough to start knitting.

I have used salvages in string blocks as well as crumb blocks -- they totally add to the scrappiness of the quilt and give the block a bit of zing my friends give me some of theirs also when I run short

I'm saving mine & plan on using them to make a string quilt.

I started saving selvages a couple of years ago when I saw a lampshade made from them and I bookmarked the site that had the directions. Recently I thought I had saved enough to make the lampshade and went to the website to get the directions. They were gone! I tried to wing it, but couldn't get the slant of the lampshade right. If anyone else saved the instructions, I'd love to have them.

I cut mine into five or six inch strips and put a box of them out for the birds to line their nest. The squirrel's use them in their nest also.
