I've had mine for several years. I have my Janome 6600 set up on it and it is very sturdy and so comfortable to use. I bought mine at a quilt show and it was free shipping.

I take mine to retreats. It's so nice to have your own set up.

Just wondering what the weight of that table is. Looked at website and it was tempting. Looks like it would be great to "take-along" but wonder how much it weighs

My thoughts are that if you really like the Sewezi table, then it is worth the money and shipping you will pay for it because you will have it for your lifetime. Seems everyone who owns one, loves them.
I got a table free from freecycle. It is older and the top is made of wood, slot for my Bernina fits nicely, the legs fold under and are very sturdy, but it is rather heavy, so I was considering the Sewezi table and will now purchase it based on the feedback on this thread. Thanks everyone!
Diane

Sewing Table

Karenpatrick-I did check out Nancy's Notions, but that table is pressboard. Unfortunately, pressbboard doesn't stand up well in the tropics! Thank you for the reply.

raedar63-How can I see the table you referred to by Leah Day?

I also had trouble finding any table on Leah Day's site.

I looked at the one on Nancy's Notions. I saw the size limitation and pulled back. Be cautious if you have one of the newer huge machines, it won't accommodate the largest of them. Will any of them????

I have a similar table. I don't know if it's a sew ezi. I love it. However, I did not pay $249 for it. I paid $119.

Thank you all so much for your comments. I have been considering buying the SewEzi table for some time now, since I saw one at a workshop. But I, too, wanted to consider other options.

Two main considerations for me are the opening must be large enough to accommodate the larger machines, and it MUST be stable when sewing (Many are not!).

I also firmly believe that in most cases, you get what you pay for, so if a person can afford it, I would say go for what is known to be tried and true and not try to economize any more than necessary!!! Many of the alternative ones being discussed here do appear to have some serious shortcomings as trade-offs for economy (stability and portability being a couple of the more significant ones to think about).

Thanks so much ladies.

I have the Gidget table too. It should say machines with extension table fit fine. No extension table and the machine will have a large gap around it. The cut out for the machine is adjustable by adjusting the wing nut and chain. It's very sturdy, no shaking at all. The table is very heavy so not very portable. I keep my Bernina in it. It's a good table.

I have a friend who loves hers...in fact so much, she got rid of her larger cabinet she had for her sewing machine,m and only uses the Sew Easy table, and now has a lot more room in her sewing room. She also takes it to retreats so she has her own sewing space.

I have had mine for about four years and I would buy it again today! I love it. The flat sewing surface is great and the inserts are made for individual machines so they fit without a gap. I would recommend it to anyone. It does not shake even a little while sewing. I considered several others because they were cheaper, but I am sooooo glad I decided not to try to get a bargain. The Sew Ezi is worth every penny.

I have one and used it for many years. It is very heavy, and works well. I bought it to use with my serger and sewing machine, worked well for both. It sits in my attic, and I bring it out for the grandkids to do crafts. They can't knock it over, like happened with a small table. My advice though would be to find a used Koala, or any other sewing cabinet. It can be rolled from room to room, but it gives alot of sewing space. Here is one on my craigslist, but it is far from Hawaii.

http://delaware.craigslist.org/fuo/3844758584.html. They come smaller.

Thanks for posting the question - and thanks, everyone, for all the replies. I love this site! Anything I'm wondering about, quilting-wise, I can find the answer here. I'm thinking about the Sew-Ezi table. My husband said he thinks he can make me one, and he is very handy. All the talk about the shakiness has me a little concerned, but I'll tell him to keep that in mind when he's planning his masterpiece. I like giving him projects! Keeps him out of trouble. LOL

how did you only pay $119.00? They are $249.00 for a Sew E Z table

I have found two (at different times) at the second hand store. Neither cost over ten dollars. They are handy.

I bought the Sew-Ezi for my Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond machine. Love the table because it is sturdy, moveable and a delight to sew on. Table in September 2012 cost $249 and it is money well spent.

SusieQOH 11-12-2020 05:51 AM

I paid around 150 for mine several years ago.

I bought a Sew-EZ table a few years ago and LOVE it!! It was nice to get a plexiglass piece to fit my Janome. I would not do without it again.

I bought my Sew-Ez table when I first started quilting because I could only sew when hubby was away & because I had no space to set up and leave it set up. It’s a great table, it served its purpose and I had no regrets!

I have a SewEzi table that I bought during the pandemic. One aspect of its design that I really like is that it is completely coated with some type of smooth plastic material. It feels like it is lacquered, and this coating completely covers the substrate (which I believe is some kind of engineered wood) on the top, bottom and sides. Compared to the Arrow tables, which are have a particleboard top with a Formica-like work surface and a vinyl/plastic band finishing the edges but leaving the bottom unlaminated, I think that the SewEzi would do better in a very humid, salt water environment. Plus, the SewEzi coating feels like it has just the right amount of grip and slip to make sewing on it more efficient.
In my opinion, the SewEzi is a very good value for the money. I questioned it, too, when considering my purchase. But once a I got it home, I did not regret it at all. It is a much better than average table. And I have sewn on one of the Lifetime tables, too. If you want a non-wobbly, non-vibrating sewing tablets, the SewEzi wins hands down. On the Lifetime, if I really sewed at a clip, it often felt like the whole thing was getting ready to liftoff for an outer space voyage. The Lifetimes are great tables and mine served me well, but it is not a vibration-free experience.

thank you the great comparison! I have a 48” length Lifetime table now. I love it! My embroidery machine does not shake. It is height adjustable. I don’t sew at the highest speed so no issues with the vibrations. I covered it making it an ironing surface too. Love how reasonably lightweight It is. I am considering the Sew E Z but I don’t want to Pay $249 for it. I seriously doubt my machine dealer would negotiate on the price. Oh heck, I still might pull the trigger on Sew E z. Thank you!!

SusieQOH 11-14-2020 08:33 AM

Sandygirl, I made a mistake. What I bought is not what you're talking about. Sorry!!

RonieM 11-18-2020 06:34 AM

It is absolutely worth the price. I go on several retreats a year and always take my Sew-ezi. It is light weight and very portable. I can sew full speed on my Bernina 440QE and the table doesn't shake or wobble. I have different inserts for my various machines, so it is very versatile.

Ultimately, you have to decide on what your primary use would be. Do you want to be able to take the table with you to retreats, etc. or are you looking for something that would stay in your home?
