sewed them wrong all afternoon
have you ever spent a half a day sewing together your blocks wrong? I'm so mad at my self, I could spit.
this was a quilt kit had gotten like 10 years ago, so startd it yesterday. cut all the strips for a queen quilt, then spent half of today sewing the all wrong. guess I'll spend all day tomorrow taking them apart. |
I did that on Saturday so Sunday I have to RIP!!! I had an excuse:::: The lamp burned out.......

Bummer! I like to use my little curved blade snips to snip the thread every few stitches instead of a seam ripper. The thread on the other side usually pulls right out and I find the pieces stay nicer. Take the blocks all apart and press the pieces and wait for the next day to start again, SIGH!

HATE when this happens! Sorry for you. happy ripping.

Sorry to hear you do the same thing as me sometimes. I hate that ripping. I don't know why the instructions are not written at the beginning with the finished size. The quilt I am doing says block size 7 1/2 and then when you look at the pic it shows cut to 8 it's so frustrating so I really understand how you feel. Just know it's a seam ripper club. Sue

The first of the week I started a Fun and Done quilt. My singer doesn't have much in way of decorative stitches and I used sort of a cross hatch stitch. I did 6 of them and decided I didn't like it so today I ripped all of that stitching out. Wasn't easy. Finished it up a little bit ago and just used a straight stitch...like it much better. I feel your pain....for sure!!!

I have done that many times too! It is a downside of chain piecing!!
|
Been there done that! I feel your pain. Such a waste of time, but it happens.
|
I feel your pain! There are times when I feel I'm MUCH more adept with my seam ripper than I am with my swing machine...
|
I have to do some ripping on every quilt I make. I hate it too.
