I am thinking about buying the house next door to live in--my house is getting crowded out with my quilting.
|
I have to put four folding tables ( DH does) on the patio to layer a finished quilt. It is ok this week but has been windy out there.

That's a good one!

[Although being out of the house would be nice.]
My DH had a shop built for me in the yard and 90% of the time it is great to have a separate building that is totally MINE. I can just get up and leave it like it is with WIP's. But I have a hard time making myself go out in the weather to sew when it is raining or really cold. That's when I kind of wish I had a quilting room in the house. |
Maggie how smart but what about a place for Gran babies?

Tell him if he behaves he can stay in your sewing space with you. lol.

After it was finished I asked my dad if he would put up a few shelves for me (I worked at Hancock Fabrics). I was at work and he started my shelves without knowing what I wanted. He maded the back wall ALL shelves (only 3), but I can fit BOLTS of fabric standing up (he knew that I would put my fabric back onto the bold after washing and ironing it, so he made sure I could put my fabric two bolts deep standing on end). My dad is gone now, but my sewing room GOES ON. I covered the wall with all of the OLD patterns (out dated), like wall paper. So when you walk in you always know what the room was made for. So I think if you want one, go for it!!!!

Good one!

Exactly what my hubby would have said.

Love this, and I can just hear him telling you that! He has a quick wit anyhow..........
I LOVE the idea of an outside sewing place. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have space for all our stuff and still have room enough to turn around in! (SIGH)! I took over the smallest bedroom in the house and put enough equipment, etc. in it to furnish a warehouse. Ask him to floor in your deck, and put window walls around. You would be set! Perhaps I could move in there too! |
