I use my featherweight for that kind of sewing, but any older machine should work.

Your instructor should have any/all information you need to use vinyl.

I remember reading somewhere that to sew vinyl and keep it from sticking to anything, just put a strip of Scotch tape on it where you're going to sew. I haven't tried it yet but I will if I can ever get my sewing room finished! 😕

QuiltE, the vinyl just gets put through with the feed dogs like any other fabric. I will say that sometimes I have had skipped stitches even with using my Teflon foot. But sadly the little tricks people told me to do with the tape on the underside of the regular foot and putting tissue paper between the vinyl and the presser foot those didn’t work for me! Hopefully my explanation helped?

Thanks AriannaQuilts ... yes, I totally understand what you have said.
I guess my hesitations about it are totally because I have never tried using it, to prove it works!!
But is the cost really worth it? ....... yes Bernina ... yes big bucks! :(
(Lucky LavenderBlue with her $!0=$8 score ... I only wish! :)

Is this the clear iron on vinyl? I bought some at a quilt show but have yet to use it. Would love to know how well it works.
