It would make a cute accent rug for a bedroom if you used fabric from the quilt on the bed too.

Looks like a good way to use up leftover fabric. thanks for the link.

Interesting concept. I wonder how well it wears though?

I'm also wondering about this. I just don't see a rug holding up just using quilting cottons. Maybe a trivet or potholder though. I downloaded the project.

huh....I love how it looks, but I'm not sure I would put it on the floor. :) I could see myself doing the trivets.

This is definitely different. The fabrics are exquisite. It might be hard to sew the edges thru the cording.

sewing those fabric wrapped clothesline baskets is similar, but i will tell you this much...you can break alot of needles and possibly burn your sewing machine up in the process....this technique sure looks like a far better method of doing any sewing with clothesline involved. and i am gonna give it try one day. rugs are not as cheap as they used to be and i love the look of rag rugs on my wood floors.

I'm sure that some machines couldn't handle the stress of sewing over fabric and clothesline. I have successfully done fabric bowls trivets, and purses and never broken a needle. It is a very fun project to work on. My 8yr old grandson was fascinated watching the bowls being formed and actually develop. I urge you to give it a try as a break in the routine. Jinnie
