I bought an older Pfaff just to have the walking foot. Comes in handy for Straight Line Quilting. Still like my Vikings for piecing.

I have Pfaff 2054 and 2056 plus a 1222 that I have sewed so much on that the stitch regulator is froze up. I have loved these machines and the IDT. I would seriously consider a Pfaff if you have a dealer close.

I have Vikings and bought a even feed foot and never have used it, wish I hadn't spent the $ for it for I do not need it cause the Viking you can adjust the top and bottom tenn so therefore you do not need the duel feed.
I have quilted in the ditch and never have used one. |
I bought a Pfaff over ten years ago because of the dual feed system. I love it!

Pfaff is without a doubt the best. The 75 year patent for their IDT has expired so other companies will be coming out with their version. But, for me, it's Pfaff all the way!

I agree with you. I have a Janome 6600 and a Pfaff and much prefer the Pfaff. Putting the accufeed feet on the Janome is a pain and the feet are so bulky it is harder to see the fabric. Don't get me wrong....I do love the Janome but if I had to have just one machine...it would be the Pfaff.

The Janome 6600 & 7700, and most Pfaff machines have built in dual feed. The Accufeed for the 6600 operates much like Pfaffs IDT does. Lift it up and back when you don't need it, swing it down into place when you do.
Recommend looking for an older Pfaff, their newer machines (post 2000) just aren't the same quality as the previous German-made Pfaffs were. I've heard this from SO many quilters & sewers. I also had a Pfaff made in 2006, and it was totally inferior to a Pfaff w/IDT that I had in the 90's - and was FOOLISH enough not to keep !! :( |

I too have a Pfaff and love it. It has the smallest foot of any of them. Others are quite larger.
