Ordered this and it came in the mail today. Love it, and can't wait to make it into something for my sewing room.

I found it here: http://craftconn.com/ under fabrics (of course) "pictures" section.

Loved it so much I didn't even bother to see if it was anywhere else for cheaper lol. I guess it's made by "Mrs. Sew & Sew" There are some other ones I want to get too. :) I was only expecting just the one sewing machine image so it was thrilling to see I got more.

Did you see he coordinating fabric that goes with the panel? Maybe you would like that to use with your panel. There is a stripe, too. There are also pins and scissors.

T-Bones mom 10-14-2010 06:57 PM

Oh I love it. Thank you for sharing where you got it.

I got the needle and thread, scissors, and the safety pin fabric because I thought they would be fun for something too. However when I see them with the panel colors, I don't like how they look together. I like the other ones in the set also but not sure if I want them as part of the panel stuff. I think I am going to go with some sort of solid(ish) edging around them, so the machine is the highlight. I have a few diff ideas in my head, one is a large hanging including all 6 images, another is to make 2 or 3 different ones (combining 2 or 3 images into one hanging). leaning towards multiple ones to spread around the room and be a smaller piece to work in the machine (being a newbie lol).

Fayelh 10-14-2010 11:49 PM

That is a lovely piece of fabric.

I saw that and want to get it too. Trouble is I have several other sewing machine designs to make. Some day, some day.....

Favorite Fabrics 10-15-2010 04:19 AM

"Mrs. Sew and Sew" is the name of the collection. It's designed by Dan Morris for RJR.

You're lucky to have received the panel. We ordered this group a while back and everything came *except* the sewing machine ones. Supposedly they should be here by the end of the month. (I admit to getting rather annoyed when we don't receive our orders in full, on time.)

rrowe 10-15-2010 05:28 AM

I really like that fabric panel. Thank you for sharing your source.

Thanks for the additional information on the fabric name and designer.

Hope you get your fabric soon, had a similar problem with amazon and a sewing foot. thankfully they threw another one in the mail and overnighted it to me.

Psychomomquilter 10-16-2010 04:50 AM

OH My! that is outstanding!

smagruder 10-16-2010 05:36 AM

Miss Ice, I just want to say thank you for your service (or hubby) to our country!!!! Air Force MOM Sharon

mrs. fitz 10-16-2010 05:56 AM

I bought that same panel on a vacation in Vermont. It was on display "as is" and I didn't know there was coordinating fabric for it. Here's hoping both you and I really do use it so it doesn't get buried in that "someday" pile we all have.

Very nice love the colours too.

Thank you to you and your hubby. My husband retired 19 years ago after 23 years in the Air Force. My son just got out of the Army after 20 years. I'm so proud of our military. I know your job is a tough one but what fun adventures you have and your kids will learn so much. I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

2livesdown7togo 10-16-2010 04:12 PM

So cute, and I like the one with the dress forms too

northern quilter 10-16-2010 05:25 PM

There is a cute quilt posted in the new Fons and Porter Love of quilting magazine Nov/Dec 2010 using the fabrics that go along with this material by Mrs. Sew and Sew. Might give you some ideas. Perhaps incorporating this and the Asian Quilt patterns with squares on the side. Just a suggestion.

Crlyn 10-16-2010 05:55 PM

Oh that's beautiful, make sure you keep us updated with what you do with it.

IBQUILTIN 10-16-2010 07:38 PM

What a fun panel to have a ball with. You can just do all sorts of neat things. I would just look at it a while, it will speak to you. Actually, it will probably shout. Have fun, and please be sure to let us know

Tudey 10-16-2010 08:12 PM

My friend just bought that panel yesterday at the Pacific International Quilt Show---as well as some coordinating fabric with more sewing machines. Nice find!

Actually you found the least expensive place! I saw it elsewhere for $6.50-$7.50 per panel. How sweet is that?? Cool fabric and you hit the bargain spot!

sharone 10-16-2010 08:22 PM

Oh wow, I really like this fabric.
