Sewing machine from my cousin Cindy!

My cousin calls me and is fed up with her Disney se270d machine and can not get it to work right.. She is doing something wrong with the bobbin, not loading it right or wrong size bobbin, well she now does not want it... she just wants an older singer of some sort to just plain stitching... so I say, " wanna trade me for an older one that works and does straight stitches" ? She says YES!! so ok, I am sure it is an over sight on her behalf.... I just got the disney machine............. fine by me...

Beautiful. I've been looking at one for years. Awesome trade!!

girliegirl 05-30-2013 09:04 AM

Hence, I have three other embroidery machines but this one is disney and light weight that i can sew on in class... She is silly but that is fine by me... something she bought and will never use.

girliegirl 05-30-2013 10:04 AM

now all I have to do is to decide on which of my babies I just parted with! or should I just get her the $89 machine at Target ?? she is gonna use it like maybe 4 times a year.... lol... omg.... how can you own a machine and not sew???

Diane007 05-30-2013 10:07 AM

very nice trade for you

Jingle 05-30-2013 01:19 PM

Very pretty machine.

Joset 05-31-2013 03:55 AM

if that is all she is using it buy the one at target. i wouldnt want
to part with any of my machines.

rebeljane 05-31-2013 05:09 AM

If it was me, I would just buy a cheaper one from any where, if she is only going to use it a few times a year.

Sewfine 05-31-2013 05:17 AM

That's a great deal. I have been looking at this machine because of the Disney embroidery.

Yosamitesa 05-31-2013 05:37 AM

WOW!!! I want this machine. Guess I will be saving for it now. : )

Angel Bear 05-31-2013 05:54 AM

Great trade for you. You will love the Disney machine.

Bneighbor 05-31-2013 06:59 AM

I have the "Pooh" version of this machine and I just love it. Unfortunately it has only a 4x4 hoop. I had it in my motor home so I could piece quilt tops when we travel. I pieced so many quilt tops. I also became the official " parachute and uniform fixer" at the race track. I just retired that machine to stay at home and I purchased a innovis 1250D with a larger hoop. Maybe I can embroider on the road, too. I have a quilt by Anita Good Designs that is embroidered in the hoop. I thought it would be a good summer travel project.
Enjoy your new toy!

Well, I would at least think she deserves a better one than Target's. Maybe give her one with stipulation if she gets tired of it, give it back to you. None of my business really.LOL Just Sayin'

I just sold mine (have another brother EM) it was a little trouper..used it for classes and had absolutely not problem with embroidery..I used pre-wound bobbins almost exclusively. had to downsize machines after buying 2 on a cruise.

twinkie 06-01-2013 05:10 AM

Perhaps if you were to get her a sturdy machine (but inexpensive), with a little encouragement you can get her to sew a little more. LOL

localgirl1 06-01-2013 05:31 AM

Too bad you didnt live close to each other, you might have been able help her in person on how to use her machine.

I agree.....and also that it's none of my business. ;) But I'd get her a nice Brother or something that she'll be happy with and so you won't feel you took advantage. Even if she sews only once a year, she needs something that works and will last.

mopec 06-01-2013 06:27 AM

My thought was that she would trade for an older Singer that could sew. Somehow an $89 Target doesn't fit the deal. Maybe show her how to use the Disney machine? None of my business either. LOL But I love my cousins and would want to help.

I also have this same machine and love it my granddaughter uses it more then me though she taught me how it works but I do have a friend that bought one and she has trouble with hers too all the time we have offered to help her with her machine so maybe one of these days can get her up and running too.

For some reason I can't get this link to work.

I have that machine, bought it 6 yrs ago to keep at daughter's house & get it out every time I visit, love it. My sister, an aunt and a coupe of friends also have that model & love it. It has a great stitch but I don't think I'd ever buy another machine with the cartridge threading, takes more time than regular threading.
I don't think that model is made anymore or in stores, sometimes I see a refurbished one on the Internet.
Actually it is a super sentimental machine for me, I flew to my daughter's (different end of the country) when they got the word that a birth mother had chosen them to be the parents of her newborn. So exciting!! I knew I would be there for at least 2 months so ordered that machine from Walmart, knowing I would want to sew & embroider baby things. Now that baby is in kindergarden & when I visit he likes to see me get our "our" machine, he brings me clothes that he has saved out that need mending.

blueheavenfla 06-01-2013 02:26 PM

Maire,
What a delightful story of your memory maker machine. I love that he saves his mending for you to do. Pretty soon, you can teach him how to sew, too.

I bet you'll love the machine. I don't have that one but I have another Brother embroidery only machine which I love. But my every day Brother sewing machine holds the spool of thread just like your "new" machine does. I actually like that feature.

great trade
