Oh and I forgot to mention that since I got my needles in bulk for fabulous price, I now change them more often cuz I don't feel I have to be so frugal.

I am not affiliated with the group other than being a member to get the discounted prices. I find that I only order once a year and get a variety of sizes and titanium needles ... I split the order with 3 friends.

here is a sample of pricing at needlecoop

SHARP Also "regular" or "universal" - $10.46 all sizes for pk of 100

SHARP - PD/TITANIUM FINISH ) Regular eye sharps - $42.56 pk of 100 sizes 11/75, 12/80, 14/90

they have others too ..

An old needle can strain the motor on your machine and a new needle is a darn sight cheaper than a new machine. :-D

I didn't know this. Yes a needle is much cheeper. Thanks!

I just picked up my machine from it's annual service today. The man said klasse needles aren't so good. He told me to use janome needles in my janome machine and schmetz needles in my brother machine. He commented that people should always use the best needles and thread because they are the cheapest part of the sewing machine. If you use the wrong ones the damage can be quite expensive.
