Sewing Machine Table

I bought my wife a janome 6600p for Christmas and the set out to make her a table. 4 months later I'm finally done. I made it from cherry and soft maple designed to fit height. I still have to decide on drawer pulls, but aside from that it's finished.

I made a frame that fit around the sew machine from MDF. After rough cutting the hole for the sewing with a jig saw I clamped the pattern frame to the table top. Then all I had to do was use a flush trim bit in a router to clean up the edges. The bit is designed to follow a pattern.

The sewing machine sits on a piece of plywood that rides on the internal rails. I installed leveling screws to the platform so I could make it flush with the table. You can see the platform in the photo showing the faux drawer removed.

I just LOVE it....your plans or bought plans? Thank you for showing how the machine sits in....I want/need one!
