I could care less about a design wall, but a HUGE cutting/work/pressing table? Oh yeah!

I would put in more storage than I thought I needed, and have a walk around cutting table at a comfortable height. After developing back problems, I have come to appreciate wall outlets at waist height. It also helps you see at a glance if everything is unplugged! A comfortable chair to sit and think (facing your design wall!) and maybe another chair for a friend (two or four legged) to sit in while you sew!
Don't forget to post pics!

Lots & lots of organized storage - lots of shelves

Light, light, and more light! I prefer halogen for the 'cleaner' spectrum they provide. And I like the suggestion of waist-high outlets. Can't have too many electrical outlets either.

My cutting table, it's 6 of the pattern cabinets, 3 back to back with a 2 piece counter top the entire length and width, which makes my cutting table about 5' wide and 7' long, and the drawers are all full of quilting fabric, with the exception of flannel, the flannel is in totes and the rest of the 65 qt. totes and bigger are non- quilting fabrics. I would truly love to have a bigger room, a design wall, a long arm, oh, and more than 2 outlets. I'll eventually have a bigger one, but will have to wait until DGD gets out of college, so it'll be at least 4 years. .

You need sufficient lighting especially if in the basement.

You are so lucky! I would like a big enough design wall for a king size- two if possible to run more than one project at a time. More than one sewing station is nice to jump around. (it sounds like I jump around a lot)

A cutting table high enough so your back won't ache!
