I am almost embarrassed to say that I have not quilted one stitch (or read one page) since before June. I have been busy organizing a national conference and it consumed all of my time. Now that it is over I can get back to what I want to do rather than what I have to do .... and, of course, I want to quilt.
I ordered a June Tailor Shape Cut ruler this past spring and used it for the first time today. I just love it! It made it so easy to cut the strips, once I figured out how to calculate the numbering for the strip widths. So easy to cut the full width strips - the ruler didn't slip and I could make a second and third cut without having to move the ruler. This ruler is a keeper! |
I hope that your conference turns out well!
I need something like the shape cut ruler. I will check it out. |
love mine!!

My Shape Cut Rulers are some of my most valuable tools!!
I got one of these when Walmart had them on Clearance. It is hanging up with my other rulers and I keep forgetting about it! Everybody raves about it so I need to just lay it on my table so I remember I have it!
It is on my shopping list :D:D:D
My Walmart actually still has some on clearance, I would have thought they would be lonnnnng gone!!
I love my Shape Cut - all of them! I will warn you though that they do slip a little bit. Not so much that you may notice it but will show up in your piecing eventually. Its a good idea that when you finish cutting across once, it is a good idea to true up your edge again. You will no doubt find a little uneveness.
I love mine. It makes cutting so much more accurate and fast. Don't know what I ever did w/o it.
My is always on my cutting table.
I bought two JT shape cut slotted rulers at Joann's with 50% coupon a while back, and they are still in the plastic wrap-I haven't cut out a quilt since then, still trying to finish what I have already started (hand-quilting takes ages!). I tend to stick with the same rulers I have had for years, but I will give these a try on my next cutting session!
I looove mine!!!
I love my Shape Cut. It's made my cutting quicker, easier and more accurate.
I love mine too.
I use mine all the time!!!!!
The shape cutter rulers are great. But, if you tilt your rotary cutter even a little bit the sizes aren't uniform.
For those of us with hand difficulties these rulers are best used for making bowls and such ... not for precise cutting. the rest of you enjoy it. ali |
I have the Shape Cut and the Quarter Cut.....very valuable tools. They never slip as long as you hold the side securely, and that's not difficult at all.
You can cut several thicknesses with no problem. And.....fast!!! |
Quilt in a Day store has the super big one and usually there is a great sale on them every now and then.

I love mine too! I use it more often than I use my Accuquilt go for strip cutting!
Awesome news, will have to invest on this ruler then.
I love mine...such accuracy and a time saver
I love mine -- have used it for years. I do true up the edge whenever I have made three or four cuts because it does move a tiny bit.
I have one too and love it. :)
Thank you for the information on the ruler. I will check it out.
one of the best quilting items I ever purchased. love it!
I love mine too!!!!!
This is literally my #1 quilting item I have. I can't imagine not having it!

The shape cut ruler is absolutely one of my most favorite time saving tools!
I had mine for a long time before I used it. Now it is my "go to" ruler. What made the difference was watching the video on how to use it. I really didn't have a clue and watched it twice and feel like a pro now. Glenda

For those that don't know what this is or just want to watch a quick video on how it works, go here:

http://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponlin...&i=18833&page= I have this one, ordered it from JoAnn's on-line with 50% coupon. It was shipped in a huge flat cardboard container (great for storage). Totally eliminates the "V" cut as fabric can be cut on the single off-the-bolt fold. These rulers are the ones I use the most. |
This is one of my favorite rulers and I use it all the time.

I love mine. Don't cut strips without it. I do agree with lindasidlow about truing up the edges every so often just to make sure.
I found mine at a garage sale years ago and it was a while before I used it. I think I paid $3.00 dollars for it. One of my best buys, it's great for those strips.
The Shape Cut is one of the best things since sliced bread. LOL
After years of cut, move, cut, move...watch ruler slip-I found out about these rulers on a forum like this. I went and bought one and have never looked back! You true up one side and take off from there. I can cut strips like mad and in no time have all I need. I'm going to take my scrap stash and iron all of them flat, stack them and go to work with this ruler. What a fabulous tool this is. Have them all sizes but small.
I got mine after the last post about these I think last month. Went to walmarts and yep they had one left on the clearance rack and I snaged it up $11 went home and tried it out and man what a gem I cut for a square that I am having problems with and sewed it up and it was right on, I have been having problems cutting stright No more with this gem I love it................. So glad it came up as a topic I was getting ready to throw in the towel. Just goes to show you what a great site this is.....................
