Great way to use fabric and I do it quite offten. I think it adds to the quilt and you can flip it over once in awhile.

Why not? It isn't going to be alot of sewing if you already have them. Would you use them anywhere else is the question only you can answer.

You bet....I do that a lot. Sometimes I like the back better than the front. In any case, it is nice to have two quilts.

I like the idea but the colors in this quilt are just awesome!!!!

Love it and your idea

Either pillow shams to match or a tote bag to hold the quilt!

Thank you all for your comments. I've taken all your suggestions into consideration.
Some asked about the pattern. It's called Boxed-Squares... and you can get it at: http://www.maryquilts.com/boxed-squares/ There were a lot of suggestions about pillows. Though it's a great idea.... the person I'm doing this quilt for has too many pillows. Heck, you have to move pillows and put them in a closet before you can sit down. LOL Some asked about how I'm going to quilt it with two (good) sides? I will be quilting a large pattern over 4 blocks from the box side. The back side will just be what it will be. I have no jelly roll strips left only 23 10" squares left. Not enough for another quilt and after making 2 quilts from this fabric line.. it's time to move on. The fabric line is from Moda... Holly Taylor Classics. It's available, but hard to find. I bought it last year. 4 layer cakes and 1 jelly roll. Most places are out of it. I've decided instead of doing the back middle with a D9P, I'm going to do the D4P and then add some blocks like the front. So... once I get my rear in gear and get it done I'll post more pictures. Thank you all for your ideas and encouragement. Very much appreciated. |
Wonderful idea.
