I've always done this with all my quilts It gives the recipient 2 choioces and seeing as how I still have to sandwich and quilt its like "2 birds with 1 stone"
|
I like the two for one idea....
and I do like the pillow shames.... So at this time the choice is yours....which one will make you smile ???????????????? |
Pillow shams? Some very good quality cotton pillow cases with a border of the jelly roll strips?

I love this top. I would also like to know how you did it. I guess if you did an all over pattern like stippling it wouldn't matter if the front and back were different patterns. I'm kinda new to this so it would be interesting to know what you think about the quilting of this quilt.

Help a newbie out -- what's a DP9 or whatever it was (it's not on my screen any more. sorry)
Thanks |

I actually hate to spend that wonderful fabric for a backing. As you said, you get 2 quilts for the price of one, but I think I'd be more inclined to make a second quilt from the leftover pieces.

I think a DP9 patch would offer variety, yet be in the same color scheme for decorating. I love pieced backings, whether it is a choice or a necessity, it makes life more interesting. Good idea. You did a fabulous job on the top, by the way.

like the pillowcase idea, but pieced backing nice too.
|
Not only do I love the way it looks - but it uses up the orphan squares and less backing fabric.
