Remember all of these quilters were beginners. Just take one block at a time and take your time, don't try to be a fast as someone else--this will dry you crazy. Don't be intimidated it appears they are are nice people. Thank them for their help. Good Luck.

Remember this, everybody was once a beginner in whatever they do.
If these ladies are helpful, you're fortunate to have access to their experience. For sure, they remember when they were beginners, so try to stop feeling self-conscious. |
Please don't be so hard on yourself. We all have been there and not all of us are accomplished quilters. I quilt because I love it. I have improved thru the years but not to the level of others and perhaps I never will.
The more you do, the better you will get. |
Don't give up - put the blocks back together - it will look beautiful when it's done, and you'll be really proud.

Don't give up! Sometimes it helps to work with a teacher
one on one for a few lessons. Tell the teacher about how you feel. By doing lessons privately you won't compare yourself to how others are doing and perhaps you'll gain confidence thru private lessons. |
Keep going!!!!!!!! We are all with you. Please PM if there is any way for me to help. You will be glad when you are done. Have fun and get to know the other people in the class. You may find a friend there.

Never give up on yourself! You may give up on others when in doubt, but never stop thinking that YOU CAN DO IT! You may think that you don't measure up; but if you try again and again, you will soon find that things are not as bad as they seem. Read and learn about your mistakes or what you thought were mistakes and then apply what you have learned to be correct. Soon your skills and self confidence will be unstoppable. Now, put those blocks back together and happy quilting!

Sweety, If you are not using old threadbare sheets(that dissolve the first time the quilt is washed), bits and pieces of fabric from other non-cotton projects, double knit polyester, and fake fur, it will be much better than my first ever quilt! Keep stitching! You will be surprised at how well you will do. Keep in mind that those other quilters have been working much longer than you, and they made their mistakes also, ask them. We believe in you.

Don't give up! I think I'm going to give up my class every week that I go (same situation here), but I end up learning something new each time and then I tell myself to keep going.
Even my husband says to keep it up. I just hate that it starts so early in the morning. And we have to bring everything into class from home (sewing machine, etc.) But the ladies are all nice and I like the teacher. I'm going to do my best to stay with it ---- how about you? |
If you have children, Do you remember when they first learned to walk? How many times did they fall, AND NOT GIVE UP? They picked themselves up and tried again. I think that is the way of quilting. I also get flustered, I see all the beautiful quilts in these rooms and think wow I will never be that good. It is not important to be THAT good. It is impostant to pick your self up and keep going. You will achieve by continuing not giving up. You can do it. :) We hve confidence in YOU. :)Quilting is about what YOU get out of it for self gratifications. Let it please you. :) (((Hugs)))
