Haven't made one, but want to someday, all beautiful quilts everyone! You may also want to check the 10 minute block, I think someone posted one like that not too long ago, might be in the gallery here, not sure if there's an "I spy" category.

I love collecting fabrics for I Spy quilts! So much fun!! <--Pun intended.
I made I Spy quilts for each of my grandchildren, and have now moved on to making them for my nieces' and nephews' children.

I use the Accuquilt Go Hex and Triangle dies in my Fiskars Fuse. Makes cutting a breeze. I can get the triangles all cut out in a few hours (versus by hand, which takes weeks!).

I like the hex shape with the triangle because the triangles form a star around the hex.

The green quilt is made using the Accuquilt Go! die, the orange quilt is a smaller plastic template which I painstakingly cut around, one at a time. The green quilt took me a few weeks, the orange quilt took over a year.

I just took some 4 1/2 squares and put them together. I put doubles on a few and many are animals. I made it for my sister's grandson.

I'd like to do an I Spy for my first grand-kid expected in January. Is there ever any organized swaps on QB for I Spy fabrics?

WOW I like all the quilts shown here!
And as I'm also fond of this kind of quilt I made some till now! Sometimes we made a little exchange to get enough different fabics!

And I think it's great that you need no Y-seams for the hexies!

I made mine with Bug Jars like some others shown, but if I had to do another one, I would do an I-Spy (different prints) combined with Match Game (two blocks are alike). Especially for an ADHD child, it would assist them on trying to focus when they try to find the matching fabric, animal, object, etc.

Love the examples..My I spy pictures. I've made bigger ones, too. I like the matching game, too. Use a soft texture on the back may be soothing as well.

This lady is the queen of I spy quilts. Here's a link to her blog. Just scroll on down and look at all the different patterns she has used for I spys. http://deeintex.blogspot.com/ she posts on another forum and is a real sweetheart.
