I am currently quilting a 48" x 72" postage stamp (3,456 pieces) and wish I'd known about the strip-piecing method! lol Stick to it. You'll be really glad in the end that you did. Please let us see your finished labor of love!

Whenever I see a pattern that calls for cutting hundreds of 2" squares I move on to the next page. :?

Me too. I am doing a 2 1/2" swap right now. It's the first one I've done. Don't think I'll do it again.

A lot of sellers on e-bay offer 100 2" squares, no two alike...

try sewing 2 " strips , then cut them into the blocks and sew again!

Good luck. It will be beautiful when completed.

I was reading on to see if anyone was going to say this! Finish it at the size where you are right now or pass it on. I only do what I have fun doing when I am quilting as it is part of my fun.

That sounds like one of those projects I would have on the side and work on off and on. Keep going.....

Either that, or I start strip piecing......
